Doctoral journey interruption
So, a few weeks ago, I received a note from my financial aid office stating that they were investigating whether I had reached the student loan limits. I was perplexed as the limits seemed okay ... but that was before the changes that the current kangaroo court / U.S. administration has made. These changes mean most people will have to take out personal loans that have higher interest rates, and little or no chance of forgiveness or deferrals. Quite simply, the new legislation will definitely put higher education out of the reach of so many people.
I told a couple friends today that I sure was happy that I'd already completed my "two liittle master's degrees." Their responses were hilarious and reminded me that completing one master's degree, let alone two, is nothing but little. I still hope to someday continue my doctoral journey, but for now I'm choosing to see it as a strong suggestion to PIVOT. Although I initially saw it as a huge blow, I'm taking it as a signal to chart a new course towards a shore I cannot yet imagine.
Stay tuned.
