Doctoral program status update

In the midst of the mayhem, I have embarked on my doctoral journey. I did a second master's because I didn't feel like I was ready for the amount of work required for a doctorate, but then I realized probably no one is ever ready so I decided to go ahead anyway.

I believe only 3% of people in America are doctoral holders and quite frankly last term has shown me why that is fact! My final paper ended up being over 6,000 words and I was exhausted by the time I finished it. It really needed another couple of licks of paint (rounds of edits), but I just did not have it in me.

I believe I had about a 96% going into that final assignment so I think I only needed about 25 points or something to get an A. That's why I work as hard as I can to get as close to 100% as possible because the last two weeks are always grueling. Even still, I have not had the heart to look carefully at the suggestions from my professor because I really feel compelled to send an amended version even though I've long since received my A. Sigh. No, there really is no cure for what I have ...

Venting out of the way though, I'm really enjoying the journey. The textbooks that the professors have selected have been uniformly interesting and having something to focus on keeps my mind off "the things that I cannot change."

I've been asked several times when I'm going to finish, and I always internally shriek and externally smirk. I keep saying hopefully by the time I'm 99. This translates to: "I have no idea, but I'll keep going as long as I can, until the financial aid runs out, and/or untilnArmageddon happens and America seems to be well on its way to that.

Until next time,

I was supposed to work on two client books over the holiday and to be honest, I ended up just resting and being on tick tock and it amongst dealing with a power outage during a very hot time of the year in arizona.
